IMPORTANT: Group
marking method changed as of April 13, 2006
There is a major
change for the better in the way that you Group mark. To learn how to
do this, please read page 3 of the new documentation posted.
Enhancements as of
Jan, 2006
Where previously
Student Notes were typed in plain text, now there is the ability for
Students to type nicely formatted notes using the built-in Rich Text
Editor. Students can also view the HTML code and link to images and
websites elsewhere.
The way is which the
individual Marking Screen is presented has changed. Instead of
displaying all aspect groups on one screen, you can now change to the
three different groups by clicking on the respective tabs.
A new 7th Organizer
has been added called Miscellaneous. Using this a teacher may create
5 more custom choices that do not seem to fit anywhere else. Create
7.x aspects in the Teacher Tools menu.
Major new feature as of Dec.
7, 2005
i.PortMail
Messaging System
There is a big change to the way email is sent. Email is now part of the system and every user has a
mailbox. The new messaging system is called i.PortMail.
When you login you can check your mail by clicking the mailbox icon on the left or on the bar to the top right. If you have mail, the mailbox will be flagged full and open, otherwise the mailbox appears shut.
Besides the inbox, you can check your sent mail and save drafts.
Any mail that secretaries, teachers or students send, will be sent to each other's i.PortMail Inbox. At this time Students cannot send mail to other students but may send and receive mail to/from all teachers and secretaries.
Even though the documentation is not ready yet, using i.PortMail is intuitive. Documentation will be ready soon.
An internet email message can still be sent using the old method, where you click on the student or teacher's fullname in the Account screen but the group email feature only uses i.PortMail.
New enhancements as of Nov.3, 2005
1. A new group selection feature has been added to
the modules:
- Create New Group selecting multiple students (Teacher Tools)
- Assign Custom Aspects to a sub-group within a group (Teacher Tools)
- Mark a sub-group of students within an existing
group (Chart Screen)
Do this by first selecting the group from the
group popup, then press the icon to narrow down the group. Selection
is intuitive but if you need instructions please look up the
documentation.
2. Discussion Group Moderators can now delete
inappropriate messages.
